Mission accomplished for Challenge Entreprise La Goutte Bleue!
A big thank you to all the companies and teams who took up the challenge this year! Thanks to your commitment, we’ve taken another step towards protecting our ocean.
🙌 There were 2,520 of you, and together you collected 107,400 litres of rubbish before it ended up in the sea. Congratulations on this new record, we’re so proud of you! Your exceptional mobilisation shows that, all together, we have the power to make a difference. But the story doesn’t end here! 📣 La Goutte Bleue is a year-round event! Continue to raise awareness and mobilise your teams to take action every day to preserve our ocean.
➡️ Together, let’s do even more! Want to do something for the ocean? Give us a call!

A huge THANK YOU for the success of the Ocean Impact Forum!
On Thursday 17 October, scientists, businesses and experts met at Club 29 in Marseille to reduce the environmental impact of businesses and work together to come up with concrete solutions to protect the ocean.
This event marks the end of a year of European collaboration, as part of the European Erasmus + programme: Sharing Ocean Science for Responsible Business (SOS). This ground-breaking project has explored new avenues for fostering dialogue and creating synergies between scientists and businesses to support the latter in their transformation towards sustainable practices. What a wonderful way to bring this project to a close!
🔍 Highlights of the event :
🗣️ Opening by our Chairman and Founder David Sussmann accompanied by Samira Agem spokeswoman for Rolland Gomes, from PROMAN group.
📋 Interactive workshops on the CSRD directive, led by Anne Carmier from Utopies.
🌿 Inspiring testimonials from Séverine Fantapie and Alain Renaudin, who shared their visions for a sustainable future.
🤝 Conference: How can science and business work together to protect the ocean? Many thanks to Julie Ducret, Anne Carmier, Cécilia Barontini, Emmanuel Dujardin, and Christophe Mangalte, for sharing their expertise.
Restitution du projet SOS : Après un an de travail, nous sommes très fiers de vous avoir présenté le fruit de cette coopération européenne.
A big thank you also to Paul Molga, journalist at Les Echos, for moderating these fascinating exchanges.
Pure Ocean is proud to have been able to organise this day rich in learning and collaboration. THANK YOU 🌍✨
A dream come true with Pure Ocean…
A dream come true with Pure Ocean!
Imagine diving alongside a freediving champion, exploring the depths of the ocean… For Jérôme Sampol, this dream has come true! At our Gala, he won an incredible auction experience: a dive with our legendary ambassador Gilles Gambini.
Last weekend, they explored the crystal-clear waters off Antibes together, an exclusive moment in the heart of nature!
Gilles Gambini is not only a freediver with a record of -87 meters, he is also a marine biologist, a scientific diver and a true guardian of the ocean. His mission? Inspiring and raising awareness through underwater adventures! Thank you for your commitment Gilles.
At Pure Ocean, we are convinced that immersive experiences in nature reinforce our desire to protect it.
✨ Join the adventure, dive into the infinite and commit to protecting our blue lung!
Call for Projects 2025: ocean research needs you!
Call for Projects 2025: ocean research needs you!
Our 6th Call for Projects drew an unprecedented number of applications, underscoring the critical need to support ocean research. We saw a strong participation from projects in the Global South, a region especially vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
💡 Every year, we are amazed by the innovative scientific projects proposed to protect the ocean. Yet, it’s distressing to see so many promising solutions go unsupported. That’s why your support is essential in bringing these ideas to life! But we are also distressed to see so many promising solutions that will not be able to be supported… That’s why your support is crucial to turning these ideas into reality! 🌟
🔍 Next step: 40 projects have been shortlisted to proceed with their applications and submit a full dossier for evaluation by our scientific committee.
📅 Announcement of results on March 21, 2025.
We look forward to discovering and presenting the 2025 projects to you! Many thanks to all the candidates for their efforts and commitment to our ocean. 🙏
💙 Would you like to add your support to help preserve the ocean? By funding ocean research, you are investing in our future: contact us to find out more about corporate partnerships ➡️ https://www.pure-ocean.org/ 🌊

A new Pure Ocean Lover in the team: Martin!
Martin joins the Pure Ocean team!
Having grown up in several countries, Martin quickly became aware of the environmental challenges facing our planet. A Marseillais at heart, the sea is part of his DNA.
Today, he joins the Pure Ocean team on a work-study program as part of his Bachelor’s degree at Kedge, with the mission of bringing even more Pure Ocean Lovers on board!
The goal? Mobilize companies around concrete actions to preserve this fragile ecosystem we hold so dear. Together, we can make a difference.
Fête de la Science 2024: Spotlight on the ocean!
Fête de la Science 2024: Spotlight on the ocean!
From 4 to 14 October, the Fête de la Science brings together the general public to celebrate scientific discoveries and advances. Initiated by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, this edition puts the ocean at the centre of attention with the theme ‘An ocean of knowledge’. 🔬
To mark the occasion, the Living Colors for Pure Ocean exhibition will be at Université de la Sorbonne in Paris from 11 to 13 October. Produced in collaboration with photographer Christophe Chellaperman and Pure Ocean, this exhibition, which opened at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi last June, celebrates the spellbinding beauty of the ocean’s biodiversity. 🪸

The 7th planetary limit is about to be crossed: what if you took action to prevent it?
The 7th planetary limit is about to be crossed: what if you took action to prevent it?
Did you know that our planet is governed by ‘planetary limits’? These are critical thresholds that humanity must not exceed to ensure a stable and habitable environment.
15 years ago, an international team of twenty-six researchers drew up a veritable health check for the Earth. They identified 9 vital indicators that define a ‘safe operating space for humanity’. The diagnosis today? 6 of these 9 vital signs are already in the red, and a 7th is deteriorating too rapidly.
What does this mean for your future? The next limit we are about to cross concerns ocean acidification. By absorbing around 30% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, the ocean is becoming more acidic, threatening essential organisms such as corals and plankton, and consequently the entire marine food chain. What’s more, this reduces the ocean’s capacity to absorb even more CO2, exacerbating the climate crisis.
🌟 There’s still time to act! At Pure Ocean, we are convinced that scientific research is crucial to understanding the urgent issues facing our ocean and to developing sustainable solutions. Scientists have innovative ideas for preserving our marine biodiversity, but these initiatives need your support to see the light of day.
➡️ Join us in this effort! Together, we can prevent this limit from being crossed. Your company can play a key role in protecting the ocean and our planet!
