Space research receives more funding than ocean research

This is one of the striking observations shared by Olivier Poivre d’Arvor, the French President’s special envoy for the United Nations Ocean Conference, at the Nice Climate Summit. It’s high time we readjust our priorities to protect our blue planet!

Our director, Thomas, was present at this event alongside scientific, political and economic experts to lay the foundations for a global dialogue on the challenges and solutions for preserving the ocean.

The ocean is now classified as a “hot emergency” in international discussions. Good news? (Yes, but…) Unfortunately, this recognition is due to the growing urgency of rising sea levels, which directly threaten countries such as the Maldives and Indonesia.

The challenges are immense, and we hope that the Heads of State will take the measure of the situation with concrete actions at the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC ) in Nice in June 2025. We’ll be there to continue defending our blue lung!
