France via IFREMER joins the Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean (POGO), which calls for decisive action to sustainably support long-term, globally coordinated ocean data collection efforts.
🔬💡 Thanks to biomolecular analysis of DNA, RNA, proteins and small molecules, we are beginning to unlock the secrets of marine biodiversity. These techniques enable us to better understand and manage the major challenges facing our ocean, including climate change and biodiversity loss.
🌿The applications of these advances are vast, ranging from the management of marine protected areas to the prediction of diseases transmitted by marine organisms. By supporting these initiatives, we can anticipate dangers, protect endangered species and ensure the health of our marine ecosystems for future generations.
🪸 Pure Ocean has been supporting the Genesis project since 2023. This project is perfectly in line with the Barcelona Declaration, exploring new horizons in biomolecular observation of the ocean. Genesis aims to identify new bio-inspired compounds for tomorrow’s medicine and green chemistry, using revolutionary methods.
