RACE FOR PURE OCEAN – Kitesurfing 100 km in Morocco
On August 28th, 2019, Alex Caizergues, the fastest kitesurfer in the world, and most titled French in this discipline, has launched Essouira with his kitefoil to tackle the Atlantic Ocean!
His new challenge: follow the Moroccan coastline to reach Agadir more than 100 km away as fast as possible, and thus establish a new kitespeed record time. Committed to the environment and especially the protection of the oceans – “his favorite playground” – Alex realized this challenge for the benefit of Pure Ocean. It was the very first “Race for Pure Ocean” on the African continent.
He made a good start, favorable winds took him straight to Imsouane, then the things went dead calm just a few kilometers to the finish line … Despite this mishap, he managed to complete 98.4 km in 3h30min!
A challenge for the oceans, fragile and unpredictable! 💙
Alex’s sporting achievement was celebrated at Paradis Plage in Agadir alongside Moroccan entrepreneurs who are sensitive to the cause and committed to protecting the oceans.
